A 3-D Conceptual Design of Rockland Lake State Park’s New Pool Center
VALLEY COTTAGE, NY (Rockland County) — Rockland Lake State Park off of U.S. Route , in Valley Cottage, will receive a major overhaul to it’s pool center. The lake, which has a 3-mile path that parallels the lake shore, is a very popular spot for anyone who likes to walk, run, jog, or bike riding. At the beginning of the trail head, a pool center, bath house, and recreational center are in dire need of repair. The concrete-lined pool has been cracking after many years of poor maintenance, so the State of New York, who oversees the park, has granted $13 million to upgrade the pool, bathhouse, and recreation center. $7.3 million of it will go towards the installation of a new pool, and $5.9 million will go to the renovation of the bathhouse, recreational center, and park office. These funds come amid growing crowd numbers at Rockland Lake, reflecting last year’s attendance, as the most crowded state-owned pool. The project is scheduled to be completed next summer.
